Billy Idol at The Pageant on 06/25/01

This was a fist-pumping, lungs-screaming, blast of fun. I saw Billy the

first time he played St. Louis which rocked, but this blew that away. Steve

Stevens was on guitar again and shows how it should be done. Opened with

"Cradle of Love," and then went into "Dancing with Myself." So within about

the first ten minutes everyone was screaming, dancing and working up a sweat.

"White Wedding" was done with Steve on an acoustic guitar and just Billy

singing. A complete re-work of the tune and just jaw droppingly awesome.

When punk started they said that they didn't know how to play. That has

already been rendered as untrue. Try catching Billy Idol and Joan Jett within

a few days of each other and you'll know that! While this was an amazing show

I wish he would have done "Kiss Me Deadly." They did do "Ready Steady Go,"

so it is almost forgivable.
