The Cramps at Mississippi Nights on 11/26/97

Got there early thinking it might sell out. I was about the
fifth person there. Hit the bar, and hung back waiting for the
show. The opening band was Demolition Dolls. Three people walked
out onto the stage in G-Strings and pasties. One of them was a
guy! They played some very basic garage rock. However the shock
value of the girls dressed like that, added to it. Their drummers
eyes were rolling back in her head. I was waiting for her to pass
out. Next up was Guitar Wolf, three guys right out of Japan. They
even had their set list written in japanese. They were dressed in
black leather pants, and jackets. Looked like Dee Dee Ramone,
meets Sid Vicious. They played some awesome early punk sounding
stuff. I think they were even singing in japanese. Very cool.
Then The Cramps were on. The place was packed at this point, the
guys from Ghoul 5 were there. Beatle Bob was dancing, Steve Pick
even showed up. The Cramps were great as usual. Delivering
exactly what they are known for. A great evening.
