Dash Rip Rock at the Soulard Mardi Gras 02/24-25/01

What do you think you get when you combine a huge party

where everyone is drunk, a large combination of nudity, and

Dash Rip Rock? One helluva good time that is for sure. Dash

was playing the tent that The Broadway Oyster Bar had set up.

They started right after the Grand Parade on the 24th. Everyone

was pumped up after watching the parade, catching beads, and

showing what they got. Needless to say everyone was pumped up

and the band just tweaked the whole mood a notch to say the

least. A bottle of Jack Daniels made the round through the

audience, as the beer was flowing. Bill and the rest of the

band just kept everybody going. One great song after another.

Then Sunday we had to get up and do it again. The Tripdaddys

opened for Dash. I think they felt they had something to prove,

because they came out and played one of the best sets I've ever

seen them do. Maybe it was the still going wound up party

atmosphere, or maybe everyone was trying to clear out their

hang-overs. Dash then came back on and showed that they are not

scared to follow any band onstage. Plus the tambourine girl

put on a heck of a show. If you missed either of these shows

you may have missed the best of the year.
