Gaza Strippers at The Creepy Crawl on 02/02/01

I look forward to seeing these guys like I look forward

to my next cold beer. There were several openers, but I got

there as Ultraman was going on stage. Ultraman was once probably

the best band in St. Louis. They have re-incarnated and they

started out doing their old stuff. Now they have grown and

become something different. They are really coming into their

own now. The only original person is Tim the singer. So as

a different band, they had to change and they are pulling it

off very well. Look forward to seeing what happens next.

The Gaza Strippers where finally on and they just leveled the

place. Totally over the top rock. Dueling guitars and incredible

vocals. Mike Hodgkiss may be the best guitar player going now.

The guy probably doesn't weigh much more than the Les Paul he

was playing, but he just beats it into submission. Getting

notes out of it non-stop. The rythym section lays it down

so rock solid that the guitars can just go over the top.

I'm amazed everytime. I also picked up a copy of their

new CD "1000 Watt Confessions." If you don't own it, go out

now and get it!

Also next time you see Brad, let him know if you find his hearing

I think he lost it at this show.
