Iggy Pop at The Pageant on 10/24/01
In a surprise Sexicolor opened the show. This was a good thing. Their sonic blast that usually overwhelms a club was perfect with the larger stage and sound system. Plus they just rocked. Had more room to work with. I even think I saw Jill smiling while she was playing. Iggy then took the stage and showed why he is a legend. I guarantee you, you would never see someone like Mick Jagger or Roger Daltrey still moving around and turning it out like Iggy can. He was all over the stage. People half his age couldn't keep up. Amazing to see, and hear. His band was dead on solid. I didn't recognize any of them. But the guitar player nailed all of the tunes, from classic to stuff off of the new album. He played two solid hours, maybe more. The crowd dug it, the band dug it. What more can be said. Anytime Iggy plays, if you aren't there, you are missing out!
