Lars Frederiksen and The Bastards at Pop's 12/18/2004

Got to Pop's after having a great pizza at Smiley's (a new joint in Soulard.)
We got there a few songs into Roger Miret and The Disasters. They sounded really good.
I had no idea who they were though. My bad! Turns out he was in Agnostic Front who
I've seen several times in the past. I liked this band a little bit better. They finished up
and I realized we were about the only ones old enough to buy beer. After a break Lars came out
and kicked off a great set. He really talked between songs telling stories and stuff. There
was a kid being carried around on their parents shoulders. The kid had a great mohawk.
Lars got the kid up on stage and had fun talking with him to the audience. He was 5 years
old and Rancid was his favorite band. Between all the talking and having fun with the
audience and the other band members, some great music was played. They did a cover of
The Blasters "Marie Marie" that just blew us away. All in all a great show, a great band
and a good time.

Sorry I haven't been doing many music reviews lately. I'm still seeing a lot, but most
of them have either been reviewed or I'm just too lazy! E-mail me and bitch about it
if you want more.
