Rancid at Mississippi Night on 07/28-29/2006

They haven't been to town in awhile without it being a Warped Fest. So I had to catch this
both nights. The first night was 7 Shot Screamers, Murphy's Law and Rancid. 7 Shot Screamers are
incredible. They have improved every time I've seen them. They've been going at it pretty hard
for awhile now and should be more popular. They know how to have fun doing something they love.
Murphy's Law was as expected. They played all their old stuff. I don't know if they even have anything
new. Still it was some great stuff then, and fun to see now. The second night it was Ultraman, The Unseen
and Rancid. We missed Ultraman - again damn it! The Unseen were very good. Looks like they were
sponsored by Hot Topic though. Nothing wrong with that, they just looked a little clean for a
punk rock band. They sounded good and had the crowd into it. Funny thing is they did a cover of
"Paint It Black," which The 7 Shots did on the first night.

Rancid both nights were nothing short of amazing. They pretty much played what they wanted since
they didn't have a new CD out. They threw in some acoustic versions. They had a cool little media
show going on behind them. They loaded it up with shots from around St. Louis on the second night.
They put in a hard and sweaty two hours or so each night. I don't think they missed a song that
anyone wanted to hear. This is how music should be done!
