Rancid at Mississippi Nights on 10/22/98 .
I love these guys. They are what Punk Rock is and should be. The joint was packed, the beer was cold and the music was loud. What more can you ask for? Most of the songs they did were off of the new album and the last one. They threw in some older stuff too. Seems like I haven't seen a lot of punk bands lately, with all the blues stuff. But this is what I love and Rancid is one of the best at it. Lars had his arsenal of Les Pauls and had the good taste to have D Generation stickers on all of them. He was also sporting a great mohawk. His guitar playing is pretty cool. Tim was there filling in the parts that put it all together. The bass and drums just added a huge foundation to play on. They did an amazing cover of "If the Kids are United," by Sham 69. Think I was the only one old enough in the crowd to recognize it. The body is sore today and voice is gone, guess I must have had fun! Catch these guys anytime you can.
