X at Pop's on 07/16/03

Back at Pop's again! What is up with this. Any way for X it is more than
worth it. Again the joint was packed as it should be for a show like this one.
The Fags opened and were quite a surprise. Excellent songs and great playing.
The drummer added a little cheese factor by pouring water on his snare, 
backlighting it and then playing. It sprayed water all over the place. 

X then came out to a huge applause. It was great just to see this band
walk out on stage together. John Doe looked great and sound incredible. His
voice just gets better. Exene nailed all of her parts, singing/shouting like
only she can. DJ has one of the most unique and dead-on drum styles ever.
Of course, Billy Zoom is the coolest man ever to pick up a guitar. Laid back
playing astounding guitar riffs with a wink and a smile. It was a case of one
great song after another, and it was over all too soon. They could have played
another hour or more and still have had everyone hanging on every note.
Please, Please don't wait twenty more years to come through town again.
