Rollins Band and X at Pop's - 08/07/2006

On a Monday night? Are you serious? Plus the show started at about 7 p.m. The Riverboat Gamblers
had to cancel. So that was a bit disappointing. The 7 Shots Screamers started the show. So you know
it got started off right. They did what they do and kicked ass doing it. Rollins Band was up next. I
haven't seen Henry do anything but the spoken word stuff in years. He crashed on my floor a couple of
times many years ago. So I was looking forward to it. All you can say is that he is intense! The band
was beyond good. It's hard to imagine something that tense sounding coming out of what appears to
be almost jazz guitar lines. He did his thing and up next was X. They sounded better this time than
they did last time they were here. I'm not sure why, but I don't care. They are X and that's all you need.
